Devotees perform Shree Kiratrudra Poojan in front of magnanimous idol of Shree Kiratrudra. They are required to sit in well organized batches. The rituals performed in the poojan are as follows
On 3 postcard sized cardboard-made images of ayudhas (weapons) of Kiratrudra, namely the Trident (Trishul), The Bow-Arrow and the Shrungi are printed and provided to devotees for poojan.
Devotees anoint these printed images with powdered turmeric (haldi or haridra). After this they also offer flowers and other poojan paraphernalia as instructed by the Prapathaks.
Devotees are required to offer barley (Yav or Sattu) flour and desiccated coconut (sukha khobra) as oblation (naivedya) to Shree Kirarudra as it is believed that it is his most favourite foodstuff.
After the poojan, devotees are allowed to take home the prints bearing the images of ayudhas of Shree Kiratrudra and also the barley flour which is offered by them as oblation. This flour can be consumed by devotees at their homes by mixing it with milk and sugar. The desiccated coconut can be used as an ingredient in our regular food preparations.

Devotees should keep the images of these ayudhas at their homes in Devara (place where idols / photoframes of God are kept) for a minimum of 1 day and a maximum of 7 after which they are required to perform visarjan (dissolution) of these images in any clean water body. One may also deposit these prints at the roots of any tree.
It is believed that these images carry positive vibrations which are very beneficial if kept at our homes.
